Students will be involved in completing investigations and making observations to gain understanding about various topics. Students use cooperative learning groups to conduct experiments and evaluate their findings. This year literacy instruction will be incorporated into science instruction to guide students toward mastery in both science and literacy. The science curriculum is aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards. In addition to this, students will also complete one STEM project per trimester. STEM is an acronym for the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.
